New temporary art in Griffintown Park set to “inspire”

The third of an ongoing series of temporary art features at Griffintown Park was completed today.

Ferndale Councilmember Rebecca Xczar and her friend, Anna Berning, visiting from Texas were joined by Arts Commission member and Xczar’s husband, Kyle Deming, taking advantage of today’s sunshine to construct the latest art feature in the park.

Made of industrial strength reflective tape, the group spelled out the word, “inspire” in a calligraphy style font on the on over ten feet of the fence.

“I just wanted to do something positive,” Xczar said when asked why she chose this art project.

Previous two Griffintown Park temporary art projects were “Before I Die” project in September and a couple colorful hypotrochoid designs on the grass and fence in October.

These projects have been sponsored by Ferndale Parks, Recreation and Trails Advisory Board (PRTAB) who promises they will be continuing this series of art.
