A fence has sprung up around the property and work is expected to begin soon on a retail building that will house Capstone Physical Therapy’s Ferndale location along with up to 4 other building tenants.
According to documents submitted in the application for a City of Ferndale building permit, the proposed building located at 1887 Main Street will provide a total of 12,806-square-feet of professional and retail space and include a mezzanine in the anchor tenant space that is expected to be occupied by Capstone.
Location of building project
The building is being built by Capstone 360 LLC whose principal member is Greg Penner, who is also co-owner of Capstone Physical Therapy with his wife Jeannett. Capstone Physical Therapy operates five Whatcom County locations including 1 in Ferndale at 1730 LaBounty Drive, Suite 7.
Greg said patient volume has more than doubled at their Ferndale location over past few years and the new building will allow for future growth. Current services of physical therapy, occupational therapy, hand therapy and massage therapy will continue to be offered. The larger space will enable them to expand hand therapy, women’s health and provide more options for their return to work and return to sport programs.
Penner said he hopes to move into the new building by the end of the year.
As for who the other building tenants may be, Penner said they have had a lot of interest in the spaces but it is too early to announce anything.
