This weekend, April 1st and 2nd, Flow Motion will be hosting an open house to show off a new hot yoga facility as well as other results of the biggest remodel ever at the 6,000-square-foot wellness facility located in the Carnation Oxford Building at 1920 Main Street.
Flow Motion Owner Alyssa Springs says she will be revealing the relocation and expansion of the Relaxation Lounge. It will be moved to the main room with the salt walls. In addition, Springs has added more heated massage chairs, Himalayan salt foot detoxifiers, heated aromatherapy relief, lots of cozy nooks and expanded the wellness library.
Also new to the Flow Motion facility is what Springs says is her response to her biggest competitor. “People often do not have the time to let go of stress,” Springs said. Attendees to the open house will discover the new Executive Lounge with tilting laptop tables so they can work from heated massage chairs, foot spas and cozy arm chairs providing a stress-relieving environment. Springs pointed out, “Instead of heading to a noisy coffee shop, people can work in a massage chair while enjoying hot tea, coffee and espresso along with having the conveniences of plug-ins for laptops and cell phone chargers.”
But, perhaps most significant, is Flow Motion’s new infrared hot yoga studio.
Infrared heat is unlike conventional heat sources where the air in the room is heated. Instead, infrared heaters look like lamps and warm by transferring heat energy while not heating the air. Springs pointed out since the air itself does not get heated, infrared hot yoga is more suitable for students with respiratory or other challenges who are uncomfortable in conventional hot yoga classes.
“This is like a giant version of our Infrared Therapy Room and will be like doing yoga in the sun but without the cancer risk,” Springs said. “We have a lot of students who moved here recently who’ve done infrared hot yoga and they said you can’t go back to regular hot yoga once you’ve done it.”
Springs said she knows of no other infrared hot yoga studio anywhere in the nearby two-county area.
The open house will be held Saturday, April 1st, and Sunday, April 2nd, from 10am to 4pm both days. There will be tours and raffle drawings for prizes.
