Pedestrian clipped by passing pickup truck’s mirror taken to hospital

FERNDALE, Wash. — About 4pm Friday, July 31st, a group of people were walking northbound in the 5500 block of Barrett Road when the passenger-side mirror of a passing mid-size white pickup truck clipped 1 of them.

According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko, the injured pedestrian was transported by an aid unit to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and the mirror was missing from the pickup after the incident.

Ferndale Police investigated the incident but did not respond to a request for details.
