FERNDALE, Wash. — UKUSCAdoggie opened their doors for the first time in Ferndale Saturday, August 15th, in the Ferndale Station retail center at 1855 Main Street in Suite 107.

Store Owner Margot Barber said the move was necessary due to challenges that arose due to mandates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Fairhaven store opened last October and they had a good holiday season, Barber said, but then the building her store was in closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new Ferndale location is a much bigger space according to Barber.

UKUSCAdoggie provides supplies and accessories for dogs and cats. Barber says she maintains an emphasis on quality and safety. Her inventory includes equipment for outdoor recreational activities, health, grooming, nutritional snacks and supplements and a variety of play and treat items.

Barber says she has been and hopes to continue to be active and involved in pet-related events around Whatcom County. She says she is committed to animal rescue efforts and a portion of her sales goes to benefit those organizations.

Store hours are Tuesday through Friday 11am to 5pm and Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm.

As for the unique business name, Barber says it represents all the places she has lived; United Kingdom (UK), United States (US) and Canada (CA), hence “UKUSCA.”
