Pie baking contest to mark final day of 2017 Ferndale Farmers Market season

This Friday, October 13th, will be the last Ferndale Farmers Market of the 2017 season. To mark the occasion organizers will hold a pie baking contest.

To enter in the contest, bakers are to bring their best fresh baked pie to the panel of judges at the market between 3 and 4pm. Judging will begin at 4pm. Judges will be Riley Sweeney of the City of Ferndale, Rob Vitali of Misty Mountain Farms and ‎Russell Deptuch, Sr. of Bees Choice Honey.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. 1st place will receive a Coconut Kenny’s $25 gift card, 2nd place will receive a Haggen $15 gift card to and 3rd place will receive a Woods Coffee $10 coffee card.

The Ferndale Farmers Market will be open from 3pm to 7pm around the fountain at the Centennial Riverwalk Park. In addition to the contest there will also be live music and vendors will be handing out Halloween candy. Food trucks scheduled include Juanita’s Mexican Food and Good to Go Meat Pies.
