FERNDALE, Wash. — Snow resumed falling in the Ferndale area about 4pm today, December 21st, after a 2.5-hour snow event left light accumulations.
City of Ferndale Public Works Supervisor Bo Westford said they have 3 snowplows out this evening clearing what are defined as priority routes.
“We want to clear off as much as we can in case temperatures drop to freezing,” Westford told My Ferndale News.
Unfortunately, Westford said, they will not be able to apply de-icing solution since it is ineffective when applied to wet roads.
Answers to questions about which roads in Ferndale are plowed and when can be answered on the City of Ferndale’s snow and ice control information page. Whatcom County also provides a map and an explanation online about what roads outside the city limits are plowed and when.
