Potentially damaging winds forecast through Thanksgiving Day

Early this morning, the National Weather Service in Seattle issued a Wind Advisory for today and a High Wind Watch for tomorrow, Wednesday, through Thanksgiving Day.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 6am this morning to 6pm this evening according to a statement issued early this morning by NWS. Sustained southeast winds from 20 to 35mph with gusts to 45mph are expected during that time. UPDATE 3pm 11/22/16: The Wind Advisory has been cancelled.

In addition, a High Wind Watch has been issued from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon. Sustained southeast winds from 20 to 40mph with gusts to 60mph possible during that time.

According to the NWS statement,

winds today could break tree limbs and cause isolated power outages. Winds Wednesday night and Thursday could possibly result in more widespread power outages… topple trees… and cause travel difficulties.
