Updated: Power outage impacted much of the Ferndale/Custer area

PSE is reporting all impacted by this outage have had power restored. No reason for the outage was given.

Update 5:30am
Neighbors are reporting power has been restored. Awaiting confirmation from PSE as to the extent power has been restored to those impacted.

Puget Sound Energy reports more than 5000 lost power shortly after 4am.

Initial estimate is that power will be restored by 12am (midnite). Hopefully that’s a typographical error.

PSE had not reported the cause of the widespread outage as of 4:25am.

While blustery at the time, wind speeds had been steadily declining overnight and gusts were in the mid-30mph range at the time of the outage as reported by a weather station near Ferndale High School.
