The latest advisory from the National Weather Service continues to warn of high winds with potential for gusts to 65 MPH (reports of 60MPH winds in Portland, OR as this was being written). This, the third of as many storms this week, is expected to arrive after 4pm this evening.
Intensity of the winds depends upon the storm track with positions further west resulting in reduced wind speeds as what we saw with the second storm this week.
Current forecast models for this evening’s storm indicates south to southeast winds from 30 to 40 MPH starting after 4pm with gusts after 6pm.
There is a possibility of power outages and preparations should be made. If you plan to use an alternate source of heat or electricity do so being aware to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, electrocution and fire. Only use portable generators outdoors. Gas grills should never be used indoors since they are a cause of carbon monoxide poisoning.
