President Trump: Flags at half-staff to honor victims at Annapolis, MD newspaper

President Donald Trump today issued a Presidential Proclamation directing United States flags be lowered to half-staff today, Tuesday, July 3rd, until sunset this evening. This direction was being made out of “solemn respect for the victims” of a shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland where 5 persons are reported to have been killed and 2 injured.

President Trump said in his proclamation,

Our Nation shares the sorrow of those affected by the shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland. Americans across the country are united in calling upon God to be with the victims and to bring aid and comfort to their families and friends.
