Professional dance studio opens in Ferndale location

Clan Heather Dancers has opened a new dance studio in Ferndale. The dance studio provides classes for students of all ages in Scottish Highland and Irish step dance.

Studio Director Heather Richendrfer teaches competition, performance and recreational dancing out of the Ferndale location in the recently remodeled space now known as Center Studio, located at 2013 Main Street.

Richendrfer is founder and executive director of the Scottish Dance Society and recently organized the inaugural Bellingham Scottish Gathering at Hovander Homestead Park this past June.

Students perform throughout the year at community festivals and events and at Highland dance competitions and championships organized by Richendrfer.

Clan Heather Dancers other dance studios are located in Bellingham, Mount Vernon and Everett. Classes in Ferndale will occur on Thursdays, Richendrfer said.
