Program fills student meals gap while school is out for summer

Free and reduced meals provided by the Ferndale School District during the school year are an important service for many Ferndale area families. But, come the summer break, that resource is gone.

Fortunately, the Summer Meals Program is available to fill the need again this year. The program provides free meals and snacks to students age 18 and under all summer long is available in Ferndale. No proof of income, address or citizenship is required.

In Ferndale, the program is offered at the Boys & Girls Club Ferndale Clubhouse. Free breakfasts  and lunches will be served Monday through Friday, June 25th to August 17th (except July 4th), at the. Breakfast will be available from 8:30am to 9am. Lunch will be available from 12pm to 12:30pm.
