The Ferndale Downtown Association‘s Annual City-Wide Cleanup Day launches at 9am at the City Hall parking lot. This is an opportunity to volunteer to join your neighbors in cleaning up around the downtown area. Projects identified during the last FDA meeting (snipped from the latest meeting minutes) include:
- Picking up litter between the bridge and the library
- Weeding at City Hall
- Weeding around rocks at True Value/Hawlies Auto, plant ferns at Hawlies after weeding
- Weed behind railroad ties at end of 1st street (do not get near RR tracks), plant day lilies and tree.
- Sweep/scrub sidewalk on Main St. between Outlaws and Cedars
Free disposal will be available for metals, cell phones, computers, appliances and yard waste. Do-it-yourself paper/document shredding will also be available.
TIP: Fuel up with a great breakfast a couple blocks from City Hall first at the Community Pancake Breakfast (thank you Cathy Watson for the reminder!).
