A crash at the intersection of Main Street and 3rd Avenue about 7:15pm this evening, May 24th, involving 3 cars resulted in minor injuries and 1 car on its side.
Ferndale Police and the Washington State Patrol were on scene investigating the cause.
Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said there were 5 people in the 3 vehicles involved with, at worst, minor injuries.
WSP Trooper Heather Axtman said the vehicles involved were a white Toyota 4Runner, green 4Runner and Nissan Rogue.
A witness at the scene said the 2 Toyotas had been waiting at a red light to cross Main Street at 3rd Avenue. The light changed to green according to the witness and the green Toyota entered the intersection. The Nissan was on Main Street when it entered the intersection, striking the green Toyota which caused it to collide with the white Toyota and roll ending up on its side.
Correction: This story initially reported the crash occurred at 2nd Avenue. That was incorrect and the story has been updated to report the correct location at 3rd Avenue.
