Shots fired near VanderYacht Park investigated

Sunday morning about 3:40am, a neighbor in the neighborhood of 2nd Avenue and Bass Drive called 911 to report hearing arguing and then gunshots.

According to Ferndale Police, there is an open and active investigation into the incident so information available is limited. Lieutenant Matt Huffman said in an email to Discover Ferndale evidence had been recovered indicating gunshots were fired in the area. But no one was reported injured and there was no evidence of property damage.

According to Huffman, “There doesn’t appear to be any ongoing public safety issues at this time.”
