**CANCELED** Silver Alert: 76-year-old man missing from Tacoma residence

UPDATED: 10/28/19 1pm – Officials say subject was located.


76-year-old Juergen Schmieder and his blue and white 1980 Chevrolet Silverado C10 pickup truck are missing from his residence on 64th Avenue Court East in the Fife Heights area of Tacoma.

According to a Silver Alert out of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Schmieder’s wife spoke to him on the phone at approximately 9am this morning, but he and his truck were missing when she returned home from work at 11am. Schmieder suffers from dementia and diabetes, and his memory has declined significantly in the past 2 months. Schmieder left his cell phone at his residence.

Schmieder is described as a white male with gray hair, 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and red slip-on shoes.

The pickup truck has a white canopy and Washington State license plates, C28322H.

Anyone with information about Schmieder’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office at (253) 798-2325.
