It was reported yesterday that Whatcom County Public Works would be striping all of Slater Road this Thursday. Today, it was announced that project has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 8th.

The striping work will occur between 6am and 6pm. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes when possible as long delays can be expected.

It is additionally requested that any vehicles parked along Slater Road or in the right-of-way be moved before 6am on August 8th.

Public Works Assistant Director Michael Cohen said the project was rescheduled after they were made aware of the Paddle to Lummi event happening at the same time and that heavier than normal traffic volumes were expected as a result of the event.
