The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight tonight (Monday).
The advisory forewarns, “snow showers are possible this evening with temperatures dropping below freezing. Fraser River outflow will bring north to northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph to western Whatcom County and the San Juan Islands. Snow showers will push south of the area after midnight.”
This forecast expects most areas will receive a trace to 1″ of snow with up to 3″ of snow on the higher hills.
Sub-freezing temperatures are expected Tuesday and Wednesday so frozen precipitation on the ground is likely to remain frozen until a warm front moves into the area Thursday. This may create driving hazards on area roads and pedestrian hazards on sidewalks and parking lots.
