vote buttonFerndale voters were asked to decide on the fate of the City’s recommendation for annexation into Whatcom Fire Protection District 7. According to counts (not final) posted online on the Whatcom Auditor special election results page, the annexation was approved by 90% of voters within the city and 84% of voters outside the city but in the Fire District.

Nooksack and Everson had similar annexations on their ballots which also have counts reflecting high percentages of approval.

Results posted at 9pm:

City of Ferndale voters
Yes – 1,483 (90%)
No – 157 (10%)
