Special Olympics torch passed through Ferndale this morning

Ferndale Police Officer Mike Catrain handed off the Special Olympics torch to a Bellingham Police officer after carrying it down Portal Way from Custer to Brown Road this morning about 9am.

Catrain was accompanied by his wife on that segment of a run that will take the torch to the Washington State Special Olympics Spring Games.

The next hand off point was 3rd Avenue and Vista Drive where Lieutenant Matt Huffman took the torch the rest of the way through the Ferndale area to a handoff point at Northwest Drive and W Smith Road.
