FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale High School girls varsity tennis coach Mark Griep announced he will be providing open workouts for any middle and high school tennis players interested in learning to play or improving their skills over the summer.
Griep says he is interested in getting more Ferndale youth interested in playing tennis. Griep has been teaching tennis for over 30 years as a US Professional Tennis Association Certified Professional and as a tennis coach at FHS.
“Students will participate in drills and other activities designed to teach proper stroke technique and shot making,” Griep said in an email. “I’ll also work on strategy, etiquette and footwork. My goal is to give them the foundations that will avoid injury and allow them to enjoy the game.”
The workouts will be held 4pm to 5:30pm at the Ferndale High School tennis courts from July 8th through August 23rd. Middle schoolers will meet Tuesdays and Fridays and high schoolers will meet Mondays and Thursdays.
Interested participants are asked to call Griep at (310) 897-8475. Cost is $10 per workout session.
