Tonight’s windstorm still probable with gusts to 55mph forecast

The High Wind Watch has been replaced with a Wind Advisory but tonight’s wind event is  forecast to bring strong winds.

The National Weather Service issued an update just before 10am today. The previous forecast anticipated wind gusts up to 60mph but the latest forecast expects wind gusts up to 55mph. Being less than 58mph, this forecast falls into the category of a Wind Advisory so the High Wind Watch was cancelled.

Timing of the expected winds remains the same with the Wind Advisory being in effect from 10pm tonight until 10am tomorrow.  Sustained southeast winds of 25 to 35mph with gusts to 50 to 55mph are expected.
