FERNDALE, Wash. — WSDOT officials warn that crews are planning to put down the new oil and gravel surface on over 2 miles of Grandview Road (SR548) between N Star Road and the Blaine Road roundabout this Friday, August 16th. Long delays can be expected as a result.

WSDOT warns 20- to 45-minute delays through the work zone are possible as a pilot car alternates traffic through single open lane from between 5am and 5pm.

This is the second stage of roadwork that began in May.

Crews need dry conditions and warm temperatures to place a mixture of oil, sand and gravel on the road to form the new asphalt. The new surface is then allowed to adhere to the road surface and dry before the traffic lanes can be reopened.
