City staff announced today that Puget Sound Energy crews are expected to be relocating their poles and power lines along Washington Street over the next two weeks.
In preparation for roadwork planned for next year, utilities, including Puget Sound Energy (PSE), need to relocate their utility poles and lines along Washington Street between Vista Drive and Main Street. According to an announcement from the City today, PSE will be doing this work beginning Monday, October 16th and are expected to need two weeks to complete the work.
This will require reducing traffic around the work crews to one lane. Flaggers will be in place alternating traffic flow around the locations where crews are working as they move down Washington Street (highlighted in yellow on the map below). Drivers can expect delays and should consider alternate routes when possible.
The project being prepared for is a continuation of the road improvements done on Washington Street east of Vista Drive last year.
City staff warn other utility companies (e.g. Comcast, Frontier, Wave) are expected to be performing similar work to relocate their services in the months ahead and further traffic impacts can be expected as a result.
