The National Weather Service Seattle office issued a High Wind Warning this morning which replaced yesterday’s High Wind Watch.
The High Wind Warning goes into effect 7am tomorrow, Thursday December 20th, and continues until 7pm Thursday. This is several hours later than yesterday’s forecast.
Forecasters say they still expect south to southeast sustained winds 25 to 40mph with gusts up to 60mph.
Forecasters now expect this event will impact a larger area stretching from Ferndale south to Seattle and Bremerton.
Winds will increase rapidly Thursday morning with the strongest gusts expected for a few hours Thursday afternoon. This is not expected to be a prolonged event according to forecasters.
