FERNDALE, Wash. — Officials with the Ferndale Community Services Cooperative (FCSC) announced via their website they have reached the funding goal of $10,000 for the recently created Ferndale Community Utilities Fund.

The Ferndale Community Utilities Fund is a new program to help people who find themselves unable to fully pay City of Ferndale utilities bills.

FCSC officials announced earlier this month they received a $5,000 grant from the Whatcom Community Foundation. That, combined with $3,100 in community donations, brought the fund total to $8,100.

It appears from the website announcement a grant from the Mary H Storer Foundation provided the final push needed to reach the funding goal.
