The City of Ferndale today announced the launch of “Operation Love Thy Neighborhood.”
It is, according to the City’s announcement, “an opportunity for volunteers, youth groups, non-profits, neighborhood associations and anyone else who wants to help.”

The necessary trash bags, safety vests and gloves will be provided to any group looking to pick up trash on Ferndale streets. Edaleen Dairy has volunteered to provide ice cream for any participating group as well.

Safety guidelines will be provided and groups should plan to take an hour or more to canvass a neighborhood, picking up garbage and disposing of it at a designated city area.

Anyone interested is asked to contact City of Ferndale Communications Officer Riley Sweeney at (360) 685-2353.
