Whatcom County Ferry Department officials announced this morning that the Whatcom Chief will be running on a modified schedule of 2 trips per hour between Lummi Island and Gooseberry Point. The decision was the result of snow and the resulting light vehicle traffic according to officials.

Officials say they will revisit the possibility of resuming normal scheduled runs at 3pm.

Officials say they will continue on the 2 runs per hour schedule until 7:30pm. At 8pm they will begin a schedule of 1 run per hour
