Windstorm arrives on schedule – power outages reported

Winds are forecast to become stronger this evening.

As of 10:30am Monday, November 26th, wind gusts had reached 53mph and about 200 Puget Sound Energy customers in the Ferndale area were without power.

A weather station near Ferndale High School reported wind gusts exceeding 50mph beginning shortly after 9am. PSE reported two power outages on Lummi Island had left nearly 200 of their customer without power about 9:55am.

Throughout Puget Sound, PSE said they were responding to over 2200 customer without power across 18 separate outages as of 10:30am.

Today’s windstorm is expected to continue into tomorrow with winds becoming stronger in this evening. As result, there remains a higher probability for more power outages.
