FERNDALE, Wash. — City of Ferndale staff today announced work on the 1st Avenue and Main Street Pedestrian Improvement project is scheduled to begin tomorrow, August 27th.
The project is expected to take up to 3 weeks and will involve removing the traffic signal light poles and the signal control cabinet, making modifications to sidewalks and modifications to street striping.
Workers from Sail Electric, Inc. are scheduled to remove the traffic signal light poles starting at approximately 8am tomorrow. “The Ferndale Police Department will be on hand to stop traffic as necessary so the overhead cross arms can be removed safely,” according to today’s announcement.
After the poles have been removed, traffic will be directed around the work zone during the remainder of the project and no lane closures are currently expected according to the announcement. Work is currently scheduled to occur Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 7am and 4:30pm.
