WTA seeks bus rider & community input on service use during COVID-19 pandemic

Whatcom Transportation Authority is hoping to gain rider and community insights through participation in a brief online survey (click the link to participate in the survey) officials said in an announcement yesterday, June 22nd.

The survey will help WTA understand riders’ willingness to use public transit during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and what safety measures are most important as more riders resume riding buses.

Earlier this month, WTA announced its plan to continue its temporary service reduction until September 20th.

WTA’s reduced level of service is what the agency can sustain throughout the summer based on the availability of bus drivers, and on the availability of staff and supplies needed to keep buses and facilities clean and safe, officials say. Reduced service also makes it possible to add capacity on the busiest routes, to allow for increased social distancing onboard.
